We are so excited about the opportunity to present to the Dairy Strong Association. Not enough organizations realize the power of understanding generational differences in today’s marketplace. Even worse, they assume the generations are all the same. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to understand how each generation is unique, especially with the arrival of a new generation of consumers, Gen Z! From the carbon footprint to sustainability, the dairy industry will have to lean into those value propositions like never before. In addition, the younger generations palate and refined focused on wellness has them consuming dairy in new ways.
Finally – beyond just the new consumer, the dairy industry faces a scary challenge as the younger generations are not looking at careers in the industry the same way. With the average age of a dairy farmer close to 60, now is the time to understand what it will take to recruit and retain tomorrows leaders in the dairy industry. Currently 54% our Gen Zers who grew up on dairy farms are interested in farming, but that doesn’t mean raising the same crops or animals.
